Backyard Discovery Delray 14 x 10 ft. Cedar Wood Pergola with PowerPort

Look up at this one and the slats overhead are noticeably deeper than the thin lattice most kits use. That is the point of the wide purlin roof: more timber across the top means more shadow at midday, and a heavier, more finished look from underneath than a grid of narrow battens gives you.

The Delray lands between the small square pergolas and the very long ones. Assembled it runs 168.13 in by 120.13 in and stands 95.44 in high, which is 14 ft by 10 ft, or 4.27 m by 3.05 m. Backyard Discovery puts the covered area at 140 sq ft, about 13 sq m, and the top of the frame sits 7 ft 11 in above the slab. Four posts, one at each corner, so nothing interrupts the middle of the space.

Construction is cedar throughout, finished in a light brown stain before it ships, with reinforced cross beams over the posts and galvanized steel hardware at the joints. Cedar is the reason there is no treatment schedule to keep up with: the timber itself is what resists rot and insects. Anchored per the manual, the maker rates it to 100 mph winds. One post holds the PowerPort, giving three mains outlets and three USB ports out at the structure instead of trailing a lead from the house.

A 140 sq ft footprint takes an eight-seat dining table with the chairs clear of the posts, or a three-piece lounge set around a fire table with walking room behind it. Plants climb the corner posts; the purlins carry a string of lights without any extra fixing.

Timber comes cut, drilled and stained, and the BILT app walks the build rather than a paper manual. There is no published figure from Backyard Discovery for tools, crew or hours on this model, and inventing one would be guesswork. The honest read is that 14 ft beams need two people simply to hold them level while the bolts go in.

This ships freight. Total weight is 396.83 lb across three cartons at 134.48, 147.71 and 114.64 lb, which is the lightest of the cedar pergolas we carry and still well past what a parcel carrier will take. It leaves our own Camp Verde stock inside 1 business day, shipping is free, and transit normally runs 3–7 business days. The carrier telephones ahead to book a slot and somebody has to sign. Count three cartons against the paperwork before that signature, photograph any split or crushed corner on the spot, and keep the packing material until it is standing, since a return within 90 days will not go through unless the original packing comes back with the kit.

Three specifications the maker omits for the Delray, and which we therefore do not assert: the post dimensions, a snow load rating, and the crew size and build time.
