Description

Half the roof is clear. That’s the whole reason to buy a SunShed instead of an ordinary 12-by-12: one slope carries twin-wall Polygal panels, so the inside is lit like a greenhouse from morning on, and the potting bench under it actually gets used. Outdoor Living Today built it for gardeners; it ends up as a studio or a workshop just as often.

Outdoor Living Today’s Sunshed, in the 12 by 12, assembles to 155 in wide, 145 in deep and 117 in high: 12 ft 11 in by 12 ft 1 in by 9 ft 9 in, or 3.94 m by 3.68 m by 2.97 m, a nominal 144 sq ft (13.4 sq m) of floor and 838 cu ft inside. It’s Western Red Cedar throughout, the siding in what Outdoor Living Today calls Architect Knotty grade, and it ships unstained, so the colour is yours to choose or to leave to weather silver.

Light and air come from 10 aluminum-framed windows, each with a screen and a lock, with 7 flower boxes hung under them outside. The door is a 31 in wide Dutch door, top and bottom halves opening separately. Inside, a 16 in deep L-shaped workbench runs the full length of two walls; it’s part of the kit, not an extra.

Construction is panelized: wall panels arrive built, the plywood floor comes pre-cut, and Outdoor Living Today quotes 1 to 2 days for assembly. They don’t publish a crew size or a tool list on this listing; a panelized cedar shed of this size is realistically a two-person build with a drill, a level and a stepladder, and that’s our reading, not their number. The roof is where you need to decide: Outdoor Living Today lists cedar shingle, galvalume metal and plywood roof panels as options for this model. This listing is the standard configuration with the Polygal light panels on one slope; ask us before ordering if you want a specific roof material confirmed, and we’ll get it in writing from them.

Not published on this listing, and not asserted here: wall and floor framing sizes, the packed weight and box count, wind or snow ratings, and the exact window sizes.

Delivery is freight from Camp Verde, Arizona: out within one business day, typically 3–7 business days in transit, with the carrier phoning to book a window. Cedar wall panels are awkward rather than heavy, but there will be a lot of them, so have a second person. Count the pieces against the packing list, photograph any damage before you sign, and keep the packaging until the build is done: a return within 90 days needs it.

Outdoor Living Today warrants it for one year as standard. On cedar bought from April 2024 onward they add a limited three-year cover for rot and decay.

Not included: stain or finish, the furniture and plants in the photos, a padlock, and the base it sits on.
