Twelve feet by nine and a half is a small hardtop, and that’s its virtue: it fits the patio you already have, and it’s the size that clears most setback rules without a permit conversation. Check yours anyway.

Backyard Discovery’s Arcadia 12 x 9.5 ft. Cedar Wood Hardtop Gazebo is 100% cedar under a 29-gauge galvanized steel roof, sloped one way so rain runs off the low side. Backyard Discovery’s drawing gives the real numbers: 12 ft 2 1/2 in wide by 9 ft 6 1/2 in deep at the roof, 8 ft 4 1/2 in to the high edge, 7 ft 7 in clear on the tall side and 6 ft 9 1/2 in on the low side. Call it 3.72 m by 2.91 m by 2.55 m, and roughly 114 sq ft (10.6 sq m) of shade. Post-to-post opening on the long side is 10 ft 9 1/4 in.

Ratings, from Backyard Discovery: winds to 100 mph and a snow load of 5,800 lb, about 30 in of snow, when properly anchored. The lumber comes pre-cut, pre-drilled and pre-stained. The roof is corrosion-resistant steel; the hardware is heavy-duty galvanized steel. A PowerPort is built into one post, 3 power outlets plus 3 USB ports, so a fan, a heater or a phone charger plugs in under the roof once you run a cord to it.

Under a 12 by 9.5 roof you get a table for six with the chairs tucked, or a two-seat sofa, two chairs and a coffee table. Backyard Discovery’s own photos show a bistro table for two and a loveseat with room to spare. Two loungers side by side fit along the long axis.

Assembly runs off the BILT 3D app; the parts are pre-cut and pre-drilled. Backyard Discovery doesn’t publish a crew size, an hours figure or a box count for this model, so plan for at least two people and a full day, and treat that as our estimate rather than theirs. Mosquito netting is an optional extra, sold separately.

Delivery: freight. It leaves Camp Verde, Arizona within one business day and typically lands in 3–7 business days; the carrier phones ahead to book a window and someone needs to be there. The cedar cartons are long and heavy, so have a second pair of hands. Count the boxes against the paperwork and photograph any damage before signing. Keep the packaging until it’s built: a return within 90 days needs it.
